PUBLIC NOTICE: The October Board meeting scheduled for October 17, 2022 has been rescheduled to October 24, 2022 at 6PM in the Board Room at Hagerman Middle School. The schedule change was necessitated by a conflict with the Superintendent's schedule. Public notice of the October 24 meeting with agenda will be done in accordance with the public meeting law prior to the metting.

On Monday, October 10, the district will have a Professional Development Day for all staff. Students do not need to report as that is a day off for students. Staff will be on campus but unavailable for calls or emails as this is a district wide training day for all staff. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

On Thursday, September 29, 2022, the Aberdeen Paving Project for the town will continue with the installation of the speed tables. This will disrupt some parking in the area--no Parking on Aberdeen from school zone to railroad tracks--as well as pick up/drop off. Please be aware of this as you make plans for dropping off or picking up your child. The project should be done on by Friday afternoon, and will return to normal. If any changes, the district will keep you posted.

Our prayers go out to the families involved, the Dexter Community and Dexter High School in light of the tragedy that occurred last night. We are #PVValleyStrong and we are with you in support. The Valley Schools Student Councils are asking that all staff, students and community wear blue in support of Dexter on Monday. WE are here for you and Bobcat Pride will be there.

Reminder to Families: Next week on September 21, 2022, the first district Early Release Day will occur. Students will be dismissed at 1:15 PM for the day as staff will remain on campus for professional development activities. Please plan accordingly for the day for childcare and pick up.

Hagerman Municipal Schools would like to congratulate, Mrs. Jessica Copeland, 1st Grade Teacher for Hagerman Elementary, on being the first recipient of the "Rockstar Elvis" Excellence Award which depicts doing better for all she serves. She was voted on by staff, in a close vote, as the winner and Mrs. Copeland gets to keep the Traveling Elvis trophy for one month. The award will be voted upon by staff each month. Again, congratulations to Mrs. Copeland and that she does in the classroom and in the theater, and many other things, for our students.

Hagerman Municipal Schools and Town of Hagerman are proud to be partnering for Alumni Weekend/Old Timers Weekend with a series of events to attend. The schedule of school events are attached including the Homecoming Bonfire and Pep Rally as well as building walkthroughs to see our facilities. HMS is aware of the predictions of flooding in the region from weekend rains. The situation is being monitored and if the conditions change, notifications will be sent out from the district on an early dismissal, if needed. Currently, conditions are good, but will be monitored to ensure the safety of all.

To All Parents/ Students/Staff: The District will be testing the new notification system through Appetegy, our website in the next few weeks. You will received district notices and buildings notices, but the messages will be labeled as DISTRICT TEST MESSAGE or BUILDING TEST MESSAGE with some text about the drill being performed. They will be sent out through the text and phone calling feature. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play, put in HAGERMAN BOBCATS and the app will show with our good friend, Bob, as the image. Download the app and have access to all things Hagerman Schools, including lunch menus and important dates to know for grade cards, days off school and event cancellations when they do happen. Hagerman FFA had an amazing week here at Chaves County Fair, we had a total of four Hagerman FFA students show their projects throughout the week, projects ranged from livestock, crafts and ag mech. Each of our students have made it into the Junior Livestock Sale tonight. We are extremely proud of all of their hard work and success this week. Announcing the 2022 Bobcat Football Varsity Football Schedule. We have 6 home games this year so come out and support our Hagerman Bobcats as they compete in one of the toughest small school football districts in the state.

We are pleased to announce the hire of our new head football coach Paul Lopez. Coach Lopez is a 1995 graduate from Clovis High School. He was a part of the 1994 Clovis State Football Championship Team. Lopez went on to play for New Mexico Highlands University where he was part of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship Team in 1999. Lopez has Coached Football at West Las Vegas High School, Hatch High School, Rio Rancho High School, Carlsbad High School, Clovis High School, and is now a part of the Bobcat family. He also has been the General Manager and Head Coach of two semi-pro football teams, the Curry County Cats based out of Clovis, and the New Mexico Rush based out of Carlsbad. Lopez is the husband of Nichole whom he has been married to for the past 19 years. They have 4 children Taylin, twins Zaden and Zailor, Kazlyn, and a new grandson Zeke. Coach Lopez and the Bobcats will open the season at home against the Capitan Tigers on August 19th. We look forward to the upcoming season as we move to a new chapter of Bobcat Football!
